Joining

Before You Start...
Read the rules! Not only that, but you should also read the Roleplaying Guide for information on the roleplayable species here, the luperci. Be sure to familiarize yourself with what the site is about, too.

Required Reading
We have a great deal of information about 'Souls spread through the website, rp guide and forums, but you need not read it all! Make sure you check up on these vital pages to learn all you need about 'Souls before joining.
The following pages should be read to better comprehend how 'Souls works:
    The Rules
    Werewolf information
About 'Souls. Its history and plot are contained here. You need not read further in depth, as it's not required.
The Forums. This may be a given, but all the roleplaying occurs here. Browse through the claimed lands to see which pack you would like to join, if any.
Aside from that, this page is also a required read, but you're already here. ;] Happy reading!

Joining Process: Initial Acceptance
  1. Create or choose a character. You can choose to join with a competely new character, or find one on the open characters list. You must obtain permission from the player the character 'belongs to' to play the character.
  2. Register on the forum. Your username should match the name of your character. Make sure that your character's name is correctly capitalized so we know you're not a spambot. Log into your email to validate your account (a link will be sent there). If your account is not approved within 24 hours, please contact an administrator to get it done.
  3. Decide what you will be joining as: a pack wolf, clan coyote, canine loner or creature. It is encouraged for members to join a pack, rather than lone wolves. Realistically, a loner would have an extremely difficult time surviving, so it is encouraged that you join a pack or clan.
Joining a Pack/Clan
At 'Souls, we have 3 possible options for you to join with, depending on what you wish to join as (loner, pack/ clan, creature).

Joining: In Character
To join IC'ly, create a new thread in the pack lands with your character approaching the borders. In the topic title or description, the word 'joining' or letter 'j' should be clearly defined. You will be greeted by a border patrol or one of the leaders, and accepted or denied IC'ly. In most cases, your character will list their skills or talents, and explain why they wish to join. Most IC threads only last a few days, so if you reply quickly, you may be accepted in no time.

Post the following form, as well as an initial post of your character entering the lands
  1. Character Name:
  2. Character Birthdate (including year):
  3. Whether s/he is a regular wolf or a Luperci: Not applicable to non-canines
  4. Species: If your character is a canine, put their subspecies.
  5. Gender:
  6. A secondary form of contact (AIM, MSN, Y!M).
  7. How did you learn/hear about 'Souls?: N/A for second characters
  8. Initial post:
Joining: Out of Character
Some packs may allow you to join OOC'ly. Ensure that you check the pack's policies regarding joining; IC joining is the favoured method of joining. Please check the table further down on this page to see which packs allow OOC joining.
When joining OOC'ly you will need to provide EITHER detailed information (physical description and biography) or three examples of your roleplaying, rather than joining and having your character met with another. The two forms are listed below.

OOC: Detailed Information
To join OOC'ily, post the following form in the pack forum. Please take some time to work out your character's physical description and biography. For the biography, a minimum of two paragraphs is expected. For the appearance, please take heed of the rpg guide, and describe your character's three luperci forms, if a canine. A minimum of two paragraphs is expected when writing out your character's appearance. If your character is a luperci, please write a paragraph for each form (Lupus, Secui and Optime).
