In-Depth History

The packs thrived and grew larger, drawing all sorts of newcomers to the lands. They flourished, and soon each pack had a large number of members living within them. Storm picked its first beta, Nirupama Rashmi, after a successful hunt. Ruby selected a female wolf, SoloTree, to be her first Gamma, but a month later, demoted her. Silent Dawn also selected its first beta--Aisha. Shadowed Stars remained without a Beta or A Gamma (or, as it was known in those days--a Delta).

On the Southern doorstep of Bleeding Souls, a dark wolf had slipped unknown into the Bonefire territory, crying the Apocalypse upon all of his wolfen brothers. Zulifer Yfel brought to the wolves a promise of death and destruction, of an end to the wolves' reign over Bleeding Souls. He tormented puppies, killed game without reason, and was a general nuisance. It was discovered that he was the brother of Ruby, alpha of Silent Dawn. The black wolf joined her pack, seeking to please the only wolf he had ever really even liked, tolerating the other wolves with a sour look. As Ruby began to disappear, so did Zulifer Yfel-- he sought his sister each time she disappeared.

Not long after the Delta rank was changed to Gamma within all the packs, a female named Misty was promoted to Gamma in Storm, just under Rashmi. Following that, Rashmi met a male wolf from Silent Dawn in the Tranquil Springs area named Argent Noirci. The two of them were granted "permission" from their respective Alphas to begin a new pack. They chose a female from Shadowed Stars, Krystine, to be their beta.

Meanwhile, Shadowed Stars had begun to falter--the alpha lost interest in the pack and drifted. She soon left, and was replaced by a female named Omoi. Seeing the end of fertility in the Shadowed Stars packlands, the she-wolf moved the pack on to better grounds, high in the eastern mountain chain. She renamed the pack to Jaded Shadows, but succumbed to cancer not long after. Her daughter, Mordulin, took over the new Mountain pack.

The alpha female of Silent Dawn, Ruby, had begun to disappear for days at a time, and due to her lack of interest, a male named Alorran was able to take over the pack. Ruby returned to find herself a Gamma. She began courting the new male alpha before disappearing completely, along with her brother, Zulifer, who followed her out of the territory, not before bumping into a coyote-dog-wolf on her way into the territory--Kaena Lykoi. The pair made a lasting impression on each other. Alorran now ran the Silent Dawn pack, with Aisha still as his beta female. A male named Bloodblack worked his way to Gamma and then Beta, and remained for quite some time. Brief periods saw two alpha females: Taaktuq Piqaluyak, as a stand-in from Storm, and Miriam, a mysterious wolf who disappeared after two weeks.

Tragedy occurred at Clouded Tears. A female bear with living cubs attacked some of the packmembers, and the alpha male and beta female were killed. Rashmi went insane soon after, and left the pack to her brother, Darkling Owl. He proved useless, and ruled for a very short time before giving up and disappearing in search of her homeland, far away. The longtime beta female, Ashened, took the alpha seat with Kiriska as her beta female and Ceres Sadira as her gamma female. Rashmi went to Storm, estranged and deeply disturbed, and disappeared again shortly after.

Storm, meanwhile, had managed to go through two alpha males--short-term Aschere and long-time Atangiqsauruq. The third alpha, a male named Shadowfax, had been a longtime beta. He stayed longer than both his predecessors. A gamma or two passed through--first Misty, who moved to beta female, and then on to form a new pack, Celestial Hollow, with Freak Oriel and Ravyn of Clouded Tears as her beta accomplices. The second, Taaktuq, a short-tempered wolf-dog, remained for a short time at Gamma before becoming Beta, her position replaced by a female named Miska, who stayed for only a short while. Rashmi returned for a short while, as well, completely insane, scarred up and missing a chunk of ear. She was left at Subordinate, cared for by the raven-furred Stormy for the time she stayed. She disappeared again not long after, leaving behind the haunting memory of a skinny wolf with clumpy, chunky fur in Stormy's mind.

More tragedy occured when the longtime alpha male of Silent Dawn, Alorran, disappeared. He left a hot-temperd female wolf named Faye in his place. Faye was replaced by her brother Romney soon after ascending to Alpha Female, however. Romney appointed a male named Nosferatu to be his beta, then left the ranks as they were for a long while.

Around this time, remnants of an ancient coyote clan had begun stirring on Hell's Coast. Kaena Lykoi and Yasu Zarah re-met each other there, seeing former selves in each other's eyes. They called for any and all coyotes of the land to join them, and soon began a small clan, with Zarah as the female leader and Kaena as the subleader. All held similar interests--they hated wolves with a passion, and tried their damndest to pillage and plunder and kill when they could. The two of them held power over Hell's Coast for a long time, but found that the unity in coyotes was a lost cause. They dwindled down. Around this time, the dark male wolf, Zulifer Yfel, returned to Bleeding Souls, but was not quite so active in pursuing the destruction of all his kind. Rather, he seemed more interested in being the love interest to Kaena. He fathered two of her children and took the outsider rank in the clan. He was killed shortly after by the recently-promoted beta (and longtime gamma) of Jaded Shadows, Salvaged Eternity, adopted son of the been-there-forever alpha of Jaded Shadows, Mordulin.

Shadowfax left Storm, returning it to the sole alphaship of Stormy. Misty, of Celestial Hollow, disappeared, and her betas went missing for long periods of time. She was soon replaced by a male of the pack, Rashmi's son with Noirci, Nirupama Noirci. Nirupama Noirci felt the leadership was too much for him, and left the pack to the beta turned rogue wolf of Storm, Taaktuq Piqaluyak. She found the pack in shambles, but spied an opportunity--the alpha of Silent Dawn, Romney, had disappeared, leaving the pack to the then-beta, Nosferatu. He disappeared as well. Taaktuq then decided to take action, and moved her small pack onto their territory. Celestial Hollow was no more. She coaxed a lone male named Damian de le Poer to help her manage the giant double-pack of twenty-six, named Chimera, for it consisted of the remnants of two packs, plus a former beta from a third. Eventually, Taaktuq too disappeared, and the pack dwindled from massive twenty-six to smaller numbers, leaving Damian de le Poer in charge. A female named Kennedy became the Gamma, but she fell inactive and was passed in rank by a female named Tigra Sunbound, who led as the beta female. Kennedy disappeared for a short while, but then rejoined the pack. Tigra's split personalities twisted, and turned her into Syliat before long.

By this time, Rashmi had returned to Clouded Tears. However, she found herself estranged yet again--the now duo of female Betas, Ceres and Kiriska, and the alpha, Ashened, did not recieve her well. They blamed her for the failure of her replacement, Darking Owl. Rashmi's longtime friend and permanent ally, Stormy, stole her away from Clouded Tears after a mild confrontation, where she was put right back where she started so many years ago at Beta Female. Soon after, the female of Storm confessed she loved Rashmi, and the two of them, females both, were mated, and Shmee became the second alpha female of Storm. A male named Syniero, raised from young puppyhood in Storm, rose to Gamma rank, then Beta.

Ashened, the alpha female of Clouded Tears, was raped and killed by Salvaged Eternity, leaving her pack to beta female, Kiriska. Kiriska and Ceres now had control of the pack. About a month following the promotion of Rashmi and the announcement of their love, Stormy was struck dead by lightning, a fitting death for her. The pack discovered her soaked body not long after, the deceased alpha leaving behind a long, brutal legacy to her lover, Rashmi. Upon Stormy's death, a male of the pack, Zero, was promoted to gamma male. A few weeks after this, Rashmi was raped by Salvaged Etenity, who was busily carving his own lecacy of blood into the flesh of others, and became pregnant with his children. She died in childbirth, leaving three puppies--Nirupama Apollyon, Nirupama Hale, and Nirupama Tsunami in the care of the pack. Syniero took the alphaship of Storm upon her death, with Zero as his beta.

Around the same time Stormy died, Kaena Lykoi, longtime subleader (and then leader, since Zarah had disappeared some months before) also was killed--she was found with her underbelly slashed wide open by claws. It was unclear if the dead was suicide or murder. Perhaps she had finally snapped. Arlo Xyl, the disturbed son of Zarah, took over the clan. However, he raped Kiriska, the then-alpha of Clouded Tears, and caused her death through childbirth. Ceres Sadira sought vengeance as the new alpha, and took Arlo's life. The clan was left leaderless for a short time before an unknown female named Kidorah stepped to the position, hoping to revive the luckless Inferni clan. It was later discovered the body found was not Kaena Lykoi, but her daughter, Maeryn Lykoi. They were very alike in build and fur coloration. A male named Acid was given gamma (then beta) of the pack.

Trouble began to brew in the Concrete Jungle. A lone female wolf who called herself Thavardo began to recruit wolves into her own little clan, Azathoth. She proclaimed the end of the world was well on its way. She gained support from both lone wolves and pack wolves alive, and soon had a very small clan to help support her claims of the apocalypse. A month or so after this, on the few days before the third birthday of Bleeding Souls, a very human wooden ship was spied off of Hell's Coast by a Jaded Shadows wolf, none other than Salvaged Eternity. A crew of mis-matched European werewolves were on that boat, bringing with them the strange and intriguing customs from across the Atlantic. They set up a base on Hell's coast, overrunning the now tiny and weak clan of Inferni.

Clouded Tears found itself without a beta male after Acid disappeared, and so a female named Colibri Soul was promoted to Gamma to take up any slack within the leadership. In Storm, more strife stirred up around the turn of the year. Amidst all the darkness, joy had come to Bleeding Souls--the "time of the puppy" had begun. The mateships (or rapes, in some cases) of Ceres and Daituki, Colibri and Acid, Echo and Summer, Rashmi and Salvaged, Tempest and Sober, Fatin Kali and Shaeniire (both female--Shaeniire was impregnated using Salvaged Eternity as a surrogate father of sorts) brought about a large number of young puppies. Despite the abundance of young puppies, Inferni once more faltered, and fell down to two final members--the subleader Kidorah and Arinea Crall. In Storm, however, the leadership took another turn: Syniero left the pack to go elsewhere and seek other thrills, leaving Stom to Zero.

In the Concrete Jungle, the cult broke down, and Azathoth was no more. Damian de le Poer killed Thavardo, the cult leader, in a violent single shot in a church just inside the Jungle territory, and then attempted to turn the gun on himself. Zero, alpha of Storm at the time, stole the gun from him and bolted, nearly dying in the process. Just after that, Zero left, also, to seek out Syniero wherever he'd gone, leaving the pack to Adreon, his brother and Storm's then-Gamma wolf. Dre promoted a long-standing member of the pack, Hearse, to Gamma male. Kaena returned to Bleeding Souls after eight months of absence, and began to exact her revenge on Salvaged, first by an out-and-out attack, then by throwing the veil from a few important eyes. Colibri Soul was promoted from Gamma to Beta in Clouded Tears, ruling with a fluffy fist alongside the longtime alpha Ceres. Fatin Kali was promoted to Gamma in Jaded Shadows, altering the leader ranks of the pack for the first time in a year and a half.

Inferni soon began to pick up speed, and before long, it surged to an overwhelming and unprecedented twelve members, more than Storm at one point. Kidorah led her coyotes strongly in their first ever hunt in nearly two years together. In Storm, Hearse was promoted to Beta male. In Chimera, Summer was promoted to Gamma Female, and shortly after, Syliat was demoted to Graduiertier. Things for Jaded Shadows began to change quite quickly. First, Fatin was promoted up to Beta, ruling alongside Salvaged. Then, Mordulin broke her leg. Her nephew, Spade, tended to her and healed her, and near the end of her healing time, Mordulin, desperate to protect Jaded Shadows, gave Spade the Alpha Male position. The following few days were chaotic--Salvaged Eternity attacked Spade and was driven out of the pack, and much confusion ensued as the pack, which had been stable for many, many years, changed overnight.

In Syemv, the oblivious happiness of the pirates began to break down. First, Crymson, the carpenter, disappeared. Myrthe disappeared as well, replaced by an Irish wolf, Shaun O'Connor. London was attacked by Kaena Lykoi for being a foot into the Inferni territory, and Rurik and Kiska got into a huge argument once Kiska announced her pregnancy. Rurik was convinced she had cheated on him, since he had taken his herbs perfectly and was very careful. The male unofficially departed Syemv for nearly three weeks. Upon his return, he discovered Kiska with a male coyote, Segodi, and first attempted to beat the coyote, and then told Kiska to leave. He called a meeting of his remaining crew--which was dwindling by the minute--and announced they were going to form a pack. He also announced Empathy would become his beta female, and that Kiska would not be returning. They moved south, and became the Syemv pack, southernmost in position.

Unfortunately, a drought struck Bleeding Souls at around the end of July, and as the smaller streams drawing power from the Yawrah began to dry up, prey began to disappear, as the grass was slowly dying. For nearly all of August, there was no rainfall whatsoever. At some point, Colibri, Beta of Clouded Tears, vanished. Near the beginning of September, the heat really began to take its toll, and wolves began to die of the heat and lack of food and water. Among them was the alpha male of Storm, Adreon. On his deathbed, he was discovered by an old friend: Gibraltar. Adreon, worried about Storm's well being, asked Gibraltar to take on the pack, as well as pass along a few words to his family. Gibraltar agreed, and went to call the Storm pack together, despite uncertainty about how they would react.

However, Adreon was not the only Alpha to fall at this time. Damian, the only remaining original Alpha of Chimera, fell victim to cancer. Originally, it was supposed his son Ahren de le Poer would assume the title of Alpha male, but Ahren had long since become an enemy of his father and ran off to join the coyotes of Inferni. Instead, another relative of Damian's--Mab de le Poer--was to take on the pack. She was backed by both Damian's mate Misery, and the Beta female, Summer. This was not meant to be, however, as Mab left shortly after ascending the throne, leaving the pack to Ahren. Ahren moved from Inferni, leaving his mate Kaena to become king of Chimera. Around this time, Kidorah of Inferni departed, leaving the coyote clan to Segodi Mogotsi. In Syemv, Rurik departed, depressed by the loss of most of his old-world friends, and left the pack to Akumu. Shortly after her promotion, she gave Phasma Kiles, a female of the pack, the Gamma female position.

In mid-fall, many leadership changes occurred. Segodi Mogotsi left Inferni to Roane Kinsella, a childhood friend. Akumu disappeared, leaving Syemv to Phasma. Around the same time, Ahren de le Poer of Chimera departed, as well, leaving his pack to Physe Revlis. After only about a month of leading, Roane Kinsella departed Inferni, leaving it to Kaena Lykoi, who was quite delighted to regain control of the clan she'd help to found. Tayui L'leh, longtime member of Jaded Shadows, was promoted to Gamma of the pack. Storm found a gamma, as well--Phoenix. Both Syemv and Chimera suffered following the departures of their longtime leaders, and the alphas of both packs, Physe Revlis and Phasma Kiles, decided it would be best to merge the packs into a new entity, Aremys.

Not long after the new pack was created, however, trouble began to brew. The Inferni coyotes, led by the ever-angry Kaena Lykoi, were unhappy that Syemv had stolen a piece of their land. With the assistance of Hollow Nothing, who had a vendetta against Physe Revlis, they attacked Aremys one night, and drove them east, where they settled onto Chimera's former land, unoccupied since Physe moved his half of Aremys west. Inferni took back their piece of the coast and then some—fully half the land Aremys once lorded over.

Defunct Packs & Clans
Like the real wolf world, the packs and clans of Bleeding Souls are always changing, from their leadership, to their names, to their locations. Here is a list of packs and clans which once were:

Shadowed Stars
    Colors: White and Gray
    Founded By: Moondust Wolfen
    Founded On: 18 November 2001
Became Defunct On: 20 March 2002
Former Alphas: Moondust Wolfen (f), Omoi (f), Mordulin Aika (f)
    Former Betas: Omoi (f)
    Former Gammas: --
History: Shadowed Stars was the third pack formed in the Bleeding Souls territory, by Moondust, just above Storm. From the start, Shadowed Stars was the least prosperous of the three packs. Fewer joiners went to the northern pack than either of the southern packs, and Moondust became disinterested and wandered off often. An older she-wolf of the pack worked her way up to Beta, and then took Alpha during one of Moony's extended absences. Unfortunately, shortly after her ascension to power, Omoi died, leaving the pack to her daughter, Mordulin. Mordulin moved the pack to Ashen Mountain, where it became known as Jaded Shadows.

Silent Dawn
    Colors: Purple and Orange
    Acronym: SD
    Founded By: Ruby Daimachi
    Founded On: 18 November 2001
Became Defunct On: 1 January 2004
Former Alphas: Ruby Daimachi (f), Alorran (m), Miriam (f), Taaktuq Piqaluyak (f), Faye (f), Romney (m), Nosferatu (m)
Former Betas: Aisha (f), Bloodblack (f), Aspero Libre (m) Romney (m), Nosferatu (m)
Former Gammas: SoloTree (f), Ruby Daimachi (f), Bloodblack (m), Kapugen (m), Aspero Libre (m), Nikki (f), Romney (m)
History: Silent Dawn, one of the three original packs of Bleeding Souls, was founded by FiresideRubyWolf. She lost interest, and a male named Alorran was able to take over. When he (and his adopted son, Romney) disappeared, about a year and a half later, a female named Faye took over. Romney returned and Faye left the pack to him. When Romney disappeared, his beta, Nosferatu, took over... but the crazy boy decided to leave, leaving the pack completely leaderless. The former beta of Storm Taaktuq Piqualuyak (then the Alpha of Celestial Hollow) decided to take over the pack. Celestial Hollow and Silent Dawn merged together to form one giant double-pack.

Celestial Hollow
    Colors: Red and Yellow
    Acronym: CH
Founded By: Emerald Mist (f), Ravyn (f), and Freak Oriel (m)
    Founded On: March 2003
Became Defunct On: 1 January 2004
Former Alphas: Emerald Mist (f), Nirupama Noirci (m), Taaktuq Piqaluyak (f)
Former Betas: Freak Oriel (m), Ravyn (f), Blue Radiance (m)
    Former Gammas: --
History: Celestial Hollow was formed by Emerald Mist, a beta of Storm at the time. She took two wolves from Clouded Tears--Freak Oriel and Ravyn--to be her betas. The three of them disappeared after a little while. A young male member of the pack, originally from Clouded Tears (he had followed Freak and Ravyn), Nirupama Noirci, son of Nirupama Rashmi, ascended to Alpha Male. A male named Blue Radiance took beta for a short while, then, too, disappeared. Nirupama Noirci decided the pressures of alphaship was too much, so he decided to give the pack to Taaktuq Piqualuyak. The former beta of Storm saw that, shortly after she had ascended to alpha, decided to take over Silent Dawn. Celestial Hollow and Silent Dawn merged together to form one giant double-pack.

Azathoth
    Colors: Gray
    Symbol:
    Founded By: Thavardo
    Founded On: 25 September 2004
    Became Defunct On: January 2005
    Former Leaders: Thavardo (f)
History: This strange clan was founded by the religious fanatic Thavardo in the fall of 2004. She and her followers are part of a strict religious reform--they believe the end of the world is coming, and true salvation lies in the teachings of their leader. Many lone wolves who formerly ran amok joined the new clan, eager to prove their worth and be a part of something. Azathoth was officially ended the day Thavardo was shot by Damian de le Poer.

Chimera
    Colors: Malachite & Black
    Symbol:
Founded By: Taaktuq Piqualuyak (f) & Damian de le Poer (m)
    Founded On: 1 January 2004
    Became Defunct On: November 2006
Former Alphas: Taaktuq Piqualuyak (f), Damian de le Poer (m), Mab de le Poer (f), Ahren de le Poer (m), Physe Revlis (m)
Former Betas: Tigra Sunbound/Syliat (f), Summer (f), Physe Revlis (m)
Former Gammas: Kennedy (f), Summer (f), Physe Revlis (m)
History: Chimera was formed on the former lands of Silent Dawn by Damian de le Poer of Silent Dawn and Taaktuq Piqualuyak of Celestial Hollow. Chimera's history is very long and bloody, filled with lots of drama.

Syemv
    Colors: Gray & Teal
    Symbol:
Founded By: Rurik Russo (m) & Kiska (f)
Founded On: November 25th, 2005 (clan), Early Spring 2006 (pack)
    Became Defunct On: November 2006
Former Alphas: Rurik Russo (m), Kiska (f), Akumu Rouyaken (f), Phasma Kiles (f)
    Former Betas: Akumu Rouyaken (f)
Former Gammas: Akumu Rouyaken (f), Phasma Kiles (f)
History: Syemv started out as a clan of Europeans who landed on Hell's Coast, just south of Inferni. They lived as a normal clan for a while, learning about the less-civilized culture of the wolves of Bleeding Souls. After a while, they decided to stay, and made their permanent home on the shores of Bleeding Souls.

Aremys
    Colors: Purple & White
    Symbol:
Founded By: Physe Revlis (m) & Phasma Kiles (f)
    Founded On: 17 December 2006
Became Defunct On: 15 April 2007
Former Alphas: Physe Revlis (m) & Phasma Kiles(f)
    Former Betas: --
    Former Gammas: --
History: Aremys was the fusion of the packs Syemv and Chimera as both were faced with a loss of leadership and a dramatic weakening of numbers in the early winter of 2006. Unfortunately, despite the joining of forces, Aremys continued to suffer as Inferni invaded its territory on the beach and more or less forced it out of existance.

Storm
    Colors: Blue & Teal
    Symbol:
    Founded By: Stormy Blackwolf (f)
    Founded On: 18 November 2001
Became Defunct On: 1 April 2008

Former Betas: Nirupama Rashmi (f), Syniero (m), Zero (m), Hearse (m), Phoenix (m)
Former Gammas: Nirupama Rashmi (f), Syniero (m), Zero (m), Adreon (m), Hearse (m), Phoenix (m), Phasma Kiles (f), Pilot Haddon (m)
History: Storm was the very last of the original packs of Bleeding Souls to fall and only because of the wildfire. It remains the longest maintained pack of the lands passing through a high number of leaders in its long lifetime.

Clouded Tears
    Colors: Grey & Light Blue
    Symbol:
Founded By: Nirupama Rashmi (f), Argent Noirci (m)
    Founded On: 8 March 2002
Became Defunct On: 1 April 2008

Former Betas: Krystine Dragmire (f), Ashened (f), Kiriska (f), Ceres Sadira (f), Acid (m), Colibri Soul (f), Laruku Tears (m)
Former Gammas: Ashened (f), Kiriska (f), Ceres Sadira (f), Acid (m), Colibri Soul (f), Piper (f)
History: The first new pack to be established in Bleeding Souls, Clouded Tears was founded by Nirupama Rashmi from Storm and her mate, Argent Noirci from Silent Dawn. The history of the pack spirals very quickly into tragedy however and the pack would become known for a "curse" that would violently end of the term of every alpha that came to lead it.

Jaded Shadows
    Colors: Dark Green & Grey
    Symbol:
    Founded By: Mordulin Aika (f)
    Founded On: 20 March 2002

Former Betas: Salvaged Eternity (m), Fatin Kali (f), Tayui L'leh (f)
Former Gammas: Salvaged Eternity (m), Fatin Kali (f), Tayui L'leh (f)
History:Jaded Shadows was formerly Shadowed Stars but received its name change and location change when Omoi passed away and her daughter, Mordulin took over. Mordulin remained at her post as leaders for many long years, longer than any other leader in the lands, before finally leaving her post in mid to late 2007. Her pair of betas took over for her after that and maintained their post until the wildfire.

Inferni
    Colors: Red & Black
    Symbol:
Founded By: Kaena Lykoi (f), Zarah Yasu (f)
    Founded On: 24 October 2002
Became Defunct On: 1 April 2008
Former Leaders: Zarah Yasu (f), Kaena Lykoi (f), Arlo Xyl (m), Kidorah Talik (f), Segodi Mogotsi (m), Roane Kinsella (m), Gabriel de le Poer (m)
Former Subleaders: Kaena Lykoi (f), Arlo Xyl (m), Segodi Mogotsi (m), Gabriel de le Poer (m)
History:Inferni was the infamous coyote clan of the shore. Though historically antagonistic towards wolves, there were brief periods of tolerance under the reigns of Kidorah and Segodi. Throughout the years, the purity of coyote blood in the clan started to dilute also as many hybrids were entered into the ranks. Indeed, the final leader of the clan is more wolf than coyote on a technicality, though he maintains his mother's deep-rooted hatred of the other canines.
