He is the average red wolf (Canis Rufus). His ears are larger than a normal wolf, and his body lankier. Normally,red wolves are smaller in build than gray and timber wolves are, but Dawali is tall/long for a red wolf, and stands at equal height with a grey or timber luperci when shifted.

His tummy is white, as is the inside of his arms and legs, and ears. His palms are also white. He is copper to golden around his eyes, while the rest of his pelt is a rust-like, deep red phasing into gray along his back. The upper part of his tail is gray, following his back marking, while the bottom of the tail is red like the rest of him.

His mane is decorated with beads and feathers of all sizes and colors. It is currently quite short, as it was cut recently in a a ceremony of sacrifice. Cutting it symbolized his commitment.

He has yellow eyes.

Gvihita

Species: Circaetus gallicus - Short-toed Eagle
Appearance: Looks in every way as a normal short-toed eagle. Yellow eagle eyes.
Demeanor: Gvihita can be cruel and mocking, and is in general quite an arrogant spiritual companion. She appears when she likes and tends to be elsewhere when Dawali performs his regular duties. She is fond of the young of Dawali's species, and likes to torment other spirit guides of a smaller species than herself. She never speaks with other wolves than Dawali, unless there is an urgent emergency. She likes to observe Dawali struggle when in social trouble, finding it to carry exceptional entertainment value.
Preferred form: Gvihita prefers to be invisible to everyone other than Dawali. She will show herself if she wants to, and most in the tribe have seen her at some point or the other.

The short version
He married Mischka at a young age and soon they had two litters together. Only one pup, female, survived of each litter, but it was a blessing for the pair nonetheless. When Aiyanna, the youngest, was still very fresh in the world, Mischka fell ill. Dawali had undergone training as a medic, and was quite skilled in the trade, but despite enormous efforts from himself and neighboring tribes, his wife died. Soon after, the tribe was attacked by malicious luperci, and upon this attack the leadership of the tribe thought it better to move.

Dawali was part of a scouting party going ahead of the rest of the tribe, to find a suitable place to live. When such a place had been found, he helped settle the scouting party, where they would wait for the arrival of the rest. He was, as the oldest and most experienced member of the scouting party except for the tribe chief, promoted to sub-leadership - an honor.

When the Chief stepped down months later, someone had to step up, and Dawali did so with trouble in his heart.

Dawali is a kind, fatherly type.
He likes to take care of others, and he always offers a helping hand.
He believes strongly in justice, and values children's lives above all else.

He is hopeless with women and find them intimidating. He never knows how to behave around them.

Despite being skilled as a sort of handy-man (he can build simple structures, handle fire, handle crops and handle horses), he has no understanding of even the simplest of human mechanisms, be that the wagon or the fishing rod.

He holds immense esteem for those in the world of wolves that are able to "unlock the mighty secrets of the past human race". Secretly, though, he finds it somewhat scary. After all, they did all die, the humans.

Lastly, Dawali holds tradition and spirituality highly, and although it is not apparent at first encounter, members of the tribe will soon discover this side of him.
