[Noir Aston]

I believed puppies were playable March 3rd, but Shannon said Tammi told her they would be playable first of March. So, if I am one day too early, they should take the blame! 500+ The little girl threw a concerned glance over her shoulder in the direction of the den. She knew she was not doing anything wrong, but she felt somewhat nervous on her own. The light brown puppy had no specific wish to explore any part of the lands without company. Most children were probably excited to get a chance to check out the big space without a nosy parent or sibling present, but Noir Aston did not share that excitement. Tiny ears lay flat against her fluffy head as the girl turned around and took a few steps towards the den again. The fluffy ball of fur picked up her pace and hurried to the mouth of the Aston family’s home. Noir disappeared into the dark hole only to appear again a few seconds later, now with her loyal companion Toefur. Tiny milk teeth clutched one of the octopus toy’s many arms as she dragged the plushie with her. The pink toy was almost as big as her, but there was no doubt she would outsize it before long. Her mother said that they would all grow up and become as big as her. It sounded surreal to the tan child. They were all so small, how could they catch up with Tayui? Noir knew she was bigger than she had been two weeks ago, because she always made sure mommy measured her every morning to see how much she had grown. It was a bit boring, because the girl could never notice any immediate difference, but when her mother had shown her the line drawn a few weeks back, she could see that she had grown a little bit. The child’s little stump of a tail whipped across her rump in a merry wag while she placed Toefur at the feet of the tree closest to the little family’s den. Noir was content where she was, and so was her Toefur. Without any awake siblings around, Noir would normally start her day alone. She usually was the morning bird, and so she was used to an hour or two where she simply had to entertain herself. Her baby blue eyes wandered over to the entrance to the den again, always slightly worried when she was out of her mother’s eyesight. She knew she had no reason to be anxious, but the little girl worried easily. Usually she played by herself inside the den, but the last weeks her lonely games had become more and more vocal and noisy, and therefore it had begun to disturb her siblings. Some of them were not happy being woken up by Noir and Toefur, and she really did not like it when any family member became angry at her. Strong and negative emotions made the child sad, because she would do everything she could to keep everyone happy. The strongest reason was that Attila seemed to target Claudius the instant he was awake, and it broke her little heart when her frail brother began to cry. It was the most depressing sound in the whole world. Noir would always try to protect her poor brother, but Attila could be the meanest person she knew, and therefore it was impossible for her to keep the peace for long. She was happy their mother had introduced the time out punishment. Noir had never had a time out, but it helped Claudius when Attila was sent away because he was mean. ”Toefur, is it hungry?” She gave the faded pink toy a lick right between its button eyes and rubbed her small body against him and turned away. ”I hunt it food to eat.” She licked her pale mouth before she bared her tiny teeth at a tiny stick a few feet away. With a complete lack of grace the girl wobbled towards the stick and picked it up in her mouth. She shook her head from side to side a few times before lifting her head high in triumph. She was Tayui, the mommy feeding her babies. Noir barely knew what a daddy was, and therefore it was only natural that there was only a mother present in her life. Noir was a happy child, and lacked nothing. The puppy danced back to the octopus plushie, proudly presenting the kill to it. ”I has eat for it, Toefur.” She carefully laid the stick down next to the toy’s body. A paw pushed at the toy and it fell over the stick. The girl made loud eating sounds for the toy as it ‘ate’ the stick. ”Nomnomnom, mommy Noir so good mommy.” The child giggled and ran in a circle around the tree. She was a strong hunter and mother, just like her own mother. Wouldn’t Tayui be proud of her now? Noir’s plan was to grow up and become just like her snow kissed mommy. The little girl was convinced she would become a white and bi-coloured eyed wolfess just like her dame.

Word Count: 567 Holding a blanket in his hand, and a satchel over his shoulder, Dawali easily stepped over a root protruding from the path. Those yellow eyes of his did not even look down, as he knew where it was very well. Actually, the first time he had noticed its presence he had fallen very gracefully on his face because of it. After that he never forgot its position - that was how much of a grudge he felt for the piece of dead wood. He had been on his way to visit Tayui, only days after the pups were born, but his furs and hair had been so filthy after his adventure in the dirty and beat-up snow that he had had to turn back and clean and warm himself. Normally, when he walked anywhere, he held a high pace, thus his temperature was formidable. All of that snow had melted on him, and made his pelt soggy. No one, probably, would have wanted to face a friend in that condition. It was not pride or vanity, but necessity. The woven blanket in a white-furred hand had several patterns on it, in four different colors. Dawali had originally made another blanket, although that one had turned out to become too much of a failure, thus he had made another. Though it was not long since the pups had been born, he still wished to give Tay a gift, a few small things, because any help was good help. He had raised Aiyanna on his own - he knew how hard it could be, and Tay had four! She would need the help she could get, probably, unless her children were extremely well behaved. They certainly had seemed to be last time he saw them. The path turned, and when Dawali was nearly at the entrance of the den, he noticed a little speck of color by the root of a tree nearby, illuminated by the bright and crisp morning sun. Pink..? Oh and there was brown, too. Was it one of the pups? But what was that pink thing? Curious, Dawali moved closer, although took great care to be calm and not abrupt - children could scare easily, and the last thing he wanted was a scene with one of them in tears running back to his or her mother for comfort. Dawali was good with children, or at least he had been so far. As he got close enough, the male picked up a few words, childishly formed sentences with wrong grammar and wrong nouns. But it was cute, and the littler was very young - any word at all would be charming. Smiling mildly, Dawali took a few steps closer, put one knee to the ground and rested his lower arms on the other, crouched, and included himself in the conversation. Why, hello there! Waiting a few seconds, Dawali wanted to see her reaction before he said anything else. She might not accept him at all, and if she did it would be best if he left her alone. Then he could simply talk to her mother, as he had intended in the beginning. If she did accept him, however, perhaps they could entertain one another for a while - it did not seem as if Tayui was up, and he heard no noise from any other pups. She was an early riser, this one then.

Sure! 500+ The child was completely lost in her own world, so the adult’s voice was what made the little child turn her bright gaze in his direction. She was slightly startled, and stepped a bit away from the amazingly big man. He was even bigger than her mother, and her mother was huge in the child’s inexperienced eyes. Her hackles rose slightly, turning her more into a ball of fur than she originally was. Her baby blue eyes turned big and round while she watched the intruder. A lonely ear flickered backwards to search for the possibility of backup from the sleeping forms inside the dens, but hole behind her was as quiet as ever. They would not get up for hours yet. She was on her own. The child’s body was still for a few more moments before her tail slowly started to move again. Her former smile slowly spread across her pretty little face. She recognized his scent, he had visited mother at least once as she could remember. He was still a stranger to Noir Aston, but friends of mommy were friends of Noir. He was nice, Tayui only knew nice people. The child moved her gaze to Toefur. The toy did not look frightened of the man, so could she be worse? No way! It was as easy as turning off a switch, and so the child relaxed fully, tail going into a fulltime wag. He had come to play with her, she knew it. Her hackles rose even further in excitement, and the child almost levitated into the air in pure joy. Instead of sending the male a bright greeting back, she instantly turned to the faded pink toy. ”Look it, Toefur we has vistor!” The most natural thing would have been to make Dawali the father in her game, but it would have been unnatural for the girl to add another parent into the game, because she designed her games after her own life, and there was no father present. The little thing presented a sweet smile to the adult as she executed the distance between them. The guest had even brought Toefur a present. She was bound to like the male now. ”Vistor has present for it!” Her voice was high pitched and too loud, but the little girl did not notice at all. She crawled up on the Aniwaya leader to get hold of the tip of the blanket he had in his hand. The cover would be too heavy for her if he let go of it, but Noir was not aware of much. Her tiny paws pressed against his leg, and when she had a proper hold of the blanket, she put all her weight behind the effort of dragging it in the direction of Toefur. Poor son of hers, it was so cold out here, poor Toefur would freeze if they did not give him the blanket right now. After that they could all eat the animal she had hunted down.

Kult :D Word Count: 470 Dawali remained still as the girl noticed him, and it was very good, for she tensed for a moment, nervous, eyes shifting to look at Tay's den entrance. Then, suddenly, she seemed to accept him, and her tail was wagging happily as she looked to the pink thing on the ground, and spoke to it. It seemed it was a puppet, and its name was Toefur... Dawali chuckled in a friendly way, smiling, as he looked at the girl. This age they were totally in their own world, and it wasn't that long ago he had raised Aiyanna. She, too, had become completely absorbed whilst playing or pretending, and would take it for granted that everyone around her understood every detail and every reasoning in the play-world she was in. In that way this little ball of fur reminded him a lot of his own little girl, and with a sting at his heart he knew he missed it. He had always loved children. The girl brightly announced to the toy that Dawali was their visitor, her voice like a squeal, and it took her only a few moments to notice the contents of his hand. Like a little swirl of energy she padded over to him, and in no time she was on her way up his leg, sharp little claws digging into his fur and skin. Apparently it was a gift for the toy, and the girl was not completely mistaken. He would play along, of course, since it did not matter how the blanked ended up in the family, as long as it did, and if Tay wasn't up yet anyway... he might as well entertain himself. The brown-furred little bundle mustered her strength and pulled at the tip of the blanket, which she had now managed to sink her teeth in, and for a few seconds Dawali watched, very amused, at her struggle for the blanket. She had given no explanation as to what she intended to do with it, but even if he had put it gently on the ground in front of her she would never get it to wherever it was she wanted it to be. It was simply too heavy, and large for her little muscles to move. Carefully placing his hand on her tiny paw the male signalized for her to let go of the blanket as he spoke. What if I put it on the ground, and we can put Toefur in it so he can sleep? It would be nice and warm, don't you think? Knowing a young girl could easily become stubborn if one even indicated that there existed a task she could not do, he did not mention the fact that the blanket was way too heavy for her. He had learned such things the hard way.

500+ The little child pushed and pushed, but the visitor had not yet let go of the blanket. Confusion was about to enter her head when he laid a very large hand on her paw. She cocked her head in instant puzzlement, and then let her baby eyes take in how tiny her paw was compared to the man’s. She did not see his size as unnatural, because wolves grew up and became larger and larger the older they became. When Noir had lived hundreds of days she would be as tall as the trees that surrounded her. There was no doubt in the child’s mind. He wanted her to let go of the blanket. Why? Was it not a gift in exchange for Noir’s hospitality? Her jaws slackened the grip of the thick blanket, but for a moment a tooth seemed stuck, and she banged her head into him when she shook her head to get it loose. Her eyes moved to the face of the man while she silently questioned him. The possibility that the male might have no interest to play along with her did not exist. At her age, everything circled around Noir and her family. The thought that there were more important matters was not yet possible to grasp for the little child. She pointed her ears forwards at him and kept the oversized smile on her lips. He started to talk to her, and she sighed silently, relieved that she had been right about the blanket being a present for her and Toefur. The big man was so very smart with his smart words. With a poorly suppressed squeal, she removed her paws from the larger wolf and ran over to Toefur. Her son had eaten too much and it was time to go to bed. Oh, how the time seemed to fly. She grabbed hold of the plushie’s soft arm and began to drag him towards the visitor. Toefur was heavy (he had eaten too much), so the little child panted while she slowly dragged him over to the adult. She had a worry though, because she had noticed that Toefur always got cold when he was left all alone. No matter how many blankets she put on him when the family was going out, he was always cold when she came back. When Toefur and Noir was back with the man, she crawled up on his leg again and started to pound on his belly with her tiny and tan paws. She stumbled slightly and spent a moment or two clinging to his leg so to not fall off before she started to aim for his belly again. ”Toefur sleeps has with vistor, or it is has cold so cold.” If the visitor slept next to Toefur, then the octopus would not freeze and be cold. The other wolf must have travelled very far to come visit, so he was probably very tired after the long journey. ”Tired”, she explained, and continued on with her attempt to push the male to the ground by pawing his middle floor.

Word count: 375 The little girl seemed to doubt his intentions for a split second, before clumsily letting go of the blanket. It seemed she could not quite do that either, but she shook her head a little and down it fell, although her head bumped into his leg a little. Naturally, the preoccupied child did not notice very much - she was busy, after all, playing with her Toefur. Her speech problems were very cute, Dawali thought, and they would likely disappear in not long, when she started speaking more and to different people. Everything balanced itself out in the end, whatever defect small children seemed to have. Or at least often, but those with truly serious defects most of the time did not make it - sadly. Dawali didn't want to think about that, nor was he given the time to do so. His yellow eyes followed the girl's eager movements towards the toy, and meanwhile he folded the blanket out on the ground. Right here by the tree base some of the snow was not as thick, but it didn't really matter. If the blanket got wet it was easy enough to hang it over a branch later to dry. With efforts the girl dragged the toy in his direction, before climbing onto his leg again. Her paws made several punches at his stomach, and for a few moments Dawali was really confused. What did she mean? Obviously, there was something she wanted him to do. The child swayed for a second, but caught her balance again, and this time spoke - revealing the mystery to the red wolf male. Smiling, Dawali took hold of her and lifted her gently as he arranged his other leg, sitting down in a lotus position. That's true, I'm very tired, he said, putting the girl down on his knee again so she could stand by herself. But you know, grown ups are not so important as children, and I think Toefur is much more tired! Bending over a little, the male got hold of his blanket and spread it over his lap, making a sort of cradle with it atop his thighs. This is almost like a bed for him - it would be a nice, warm place for Toefur to sleep, I think.

[Noir Aston]

500+ She drummed her small paws on his belly until she was lifted up in the air. She kicked out in the empty air with her hind legs while releasing an excited squeal of joy. She loved being lifted up in the air, her mom did that sometimes, and Noir loved it more than anything. Her tail whipped the sides of her bum cheerfully, and her face opened and revealed the untainted karma only a child could have, every cell in her filled up with happiness. It did not last for very long though, because the male obviously only removed her to sit down into a better position. So he would not go away, Noir was so happy. And! She had been right! He was very tired he said, so tired, he would have to go to sleep together with Toefur. Maybe the visitor wanted to be her son too. Her brain exploded with the possibilities that had entered the game together with the approach of the stranger. This was the best morning in a long time. She was lowered down again on his big knee, and she clung to him with paws pressing on each respective side. Her ears perked as he spoke again, and she could not agree more with him. Toefur was probably much more tired than the traveller. To be honest, the visitor did not look that tired. She swung her head around to watch him spread the pretty blanket over his lap. It was a very nice bed for Toefur. The visitor was very smart, yes he was. She jumped into the ‘bed’ and then down from his lap to get Toefur. She grabbed hold of the same arm as always, and then started to drag the toy closer to the stranger. It was a bit hard to get the plushie into his lap, but she left the soft octopus arm within reach when she crawled up on the bed, then got hold of the plushie and dragged it with her. She placed him with his face down and all his arms curled around his round and soft body. The child then jumped over the toy and placed herself against the male’s warm stomach, blanket warm and soft against her back. She stretched her tiny limbs into the air and gave a yawn that revealed all her little milk teeth. Her baby blue gaze travelled up to the man’s kind eyes, and she smiled at him, grateful for his kindness. Then the Aston girl closed her eyes. Now both Toefur and Noir was asleep. She wriggled a bit to get into a more comfortable position, and then lay still. One eye opened to peek on the visitor, just to make sure he did not fall asleep. He was an adult, but her mother slept too, she knew that. Children were not the only one that slept, that much she knew. Her tail’s activity had decreased somewhat, and now bounced lazily against the blanket. She closed her eye again and made a low mewling noise. Boom, she opened both her eyes and twisted her face into a happy grimace. Hah, she was not that sleepy! She had tricked him!

Word count: 474 A ball of brown, for that was what she looked like with her little limbs sticking out from a body which was covered in a mass of fluffy fur, displayed unchallenged joy at his lifting her up, and Dawali was tempted to keep her hanging in the air with her feet dangling. Her face was twisted into an image of pure bliss, and with such joy as no grown person could ever display, he was certain. There was something about he child's lack of fear of being judged, that grown ups often carried with them as a burden, that somehow made sure that no matter the grimace the children put up, they would still be considered charming and cute by the older members of the tribe. She looked strange, as if the muscles of her face could not exactly create the expression she wished, but were strained under the confinement of fur and physical laws. A tiny tail wagged at extreme speed behind that round bum of hers, and Dawali chuckled as he put her down on his knee again, feeling her little claws dig into the red fur for stability. She was charming, indeed! A few moments later, once she had taken in his suggestion and seen what he had done with the blanket, she bounced clumsily off his lap and just as clumsily managed to drag the toy into the "bed" he had made for it. He didn't help her, for several reasons. For one she might not appreciate him touching the toy, and also she would probably benefit more from just doing it herself than him doing it for her. Some things were nice to help kids with, but whenever they had the ability to do something for themselves they should be allowed to do so without interference. Once the toy was in place she - too - took place in the warm hollow made from his lap and a blanket, and curled herself into a comfortable position. Her body seemed to become drowsy, tail wagging more slowly and her eyes closed. Dawali was fooled, right until a little eye opened up to check on whether he was giving her full attention. As soon as it was closed the wolf smiled, amused and still looking at her, until her face suddenly became that mask of joy again, bouncing at him from the world of "sleep". Her tail flew this way and that again, as eagerly as it had before. The red wolf let his head move backwards in pretense surprise, as he was startled at her sudden movements. Hadn't she just been sleeping? Oh no! The girl had tricked him! What a smart little girl. Why, I thought you were sleeping, missy! One red-furred finger reached out and poked her little tummy as he chuckled. Aren't you a little joker!

500+ She had indeed surprised the larger male, and it was too much for her. She opened her mouth and let out a series of giggles that shook her entire body. It was just so funny just to lie in the male’s nice, blanket-covered lap together with Toefur, and trick him because she was so smart and clever. Her eyes stayed on his with a complete trust that was rare even amongst children her age. The fact that he was not family and that she did not know him did not limit her heart’s ability to love him. The adult male had been nothing but kind to her, so she could not stop adoring the big wolf that held her so nicely, that spoke to her with his gentle voice. Her ears swung forward in good spirits while she arched her back and stretched her tiny limbs, showing off her chubby belly that suddenly was poked. She broke into a scream of excitement, and wriggled around like a very crazy puppy. Noir was very ticklish of nature, but she loved it nevertheless. It created spasms in her body that made it impossible for her not to laugh, and Noir never loved her life more than when it was filled with laughter. She rolled around to lie on her belly, with each of her four legs suck out in every direction. She twisted her face around to keep facing the adult, but it hurt a bit, so she turned around to lie on her side, and started to drum her small front paws on his belly again. A memory took her, and she remembered that this man was not that much of a stranger after all. He was Tayui’s friend she even knew his name (she believed!) ”Dwareeeee!” She got up on her small hind legs and tried to hug the extremely large wolf with much effort. She buried her face into his chest, and made a mewling sound. Soon a pink tongue appeared and she started to clumsily wash the visitor just like her mother sometimes did when she and her siblings had gotten all dirty. The man did not need cleaning, but that was not her intention. She wanted him to know how much she appreciated his presence here. It could be very lonely in the mornings, especially if she got up extra early. Tayui worked hard to keep the little family with food and safety, so Noir felt that she did not get her daily amount of snuggling and playing. She could always play alone, but it was so much more fun with several people. She was able to realize by now that it maybe had not been her that he had intended to visit, but maybe her mother. Tayui was not up yet though, because she had come home quite late last night. The girl cocked her head and smiled at the male (as if she did anything else but smiling). Was she correct? ”Dawareee?” He was a nice man, a very nice man.

Word count: 502 The poke went down well, and soon the little girl was moving around on the blanket, seemingly trying to decide how she wanted to lie. That is, after she was done laughing and giggling at the immense entertainment Dawali seemed to serve. The tall male, who raved above her like a skyscraper, chuckled again. It seemed laughter came easily this morning, and it continued to do so as he watched the warmly colored ball move around with her small stubby legs, trying to find a good position. As she finally laid down on her tummy, legs sticking out anywhere, looking very much like some skinned animal blanket, Dawali felt his chuckle rise to a proper laugh - and his wasn't really the humble kind. Eventually the girl decided that drumming his stomach was more fun, and moved to the side so she could do so - it didn't quench his laughter, although it subdued a little in volume. Hell, his laugh could probably wake the others if he wasn't careful. Suddenly, amongst the male's laugh and the drumming of his stomach, the little girl squealed a word, resembling his name. Dawali's laugh was given even more to live on, and again it rose to a temporary roar, heartfelt. She rose up, hind legs carrying her weight as she wrapped her front legs around his chest as if giving him a hug. The poor man couldn't do much, and his hands simply rested on his knees as he tried to subdue his laugh. It wasn't exactly because any of this was funny, but the poor thing was simply too charming for him to know what to do otherwise. Such a loving little creature, she was, now licking the white furs on his chest with the pinkest of tongues, matching the color of her Toefur. Slowly his laugh was calmed down and control regained, and she looked up to him and squealed the same sound that resembled his name. This time it sounded more like the real thing, and the male was glad to see her remembering him. He'd stopped by a few times with food and the like for Tay and the kids, but mostly he spoke to their mother, and not the children. One hand was moved from his knee and put gently on her head, and then moved a little all over the place, ruffling the fluffy furs between her ears. Yes, that's right, Dawali said, still chuckling. I'm Dawali! He expressed the name clearly, certain she would get it better each time she heard the name properly pronounced. That same hand moved again and changed shape, and one finger poked the nose of the girl as Dawali gave guessing her name a shot. You're sister of Claudius and Attila, aren't ya? I'm guessing your name is... Noir! Oceane's colors had been different, and also somehow Dawali seemed to remember the way this one squealed things out as she spoke. A certain Noir had done that occasionally when he'd been here.

Starta bål? 500+ The child could feel her tiny heart drum against her furry chest. The heart rate along with the strength in the muscle increased when the man laughed out loud, causing his giant white chest to vibrate and move under her tiny tan paws. The little Aston girl did not understand the exact reason for why the man suddenly laughed out as loud as he did, but she giggled along, while she pressed an ear against his chest and listened to all the altered sounds inside of him. He had two voices, one inside of him and one outside of him. Noir bowed down to stare at her belly, wondering if there was someone laughing and talking inside there as well. Did he have babies inside him? He slowly seemed to relax a bit, and when she pressed her ear against his middle floor again, the baby inside him was more silent too, although there were some strange burping noises. The little girl giggled lowly, biting her own tongue. A gigantic hand reached down for hear head, and she pressed her skull against the warm pat, enjoying every second of it. She was like a crazy little kitty, Noir the Kitty. A few fingers gently rubbed all around, and she pressed her head wherever he put enough pressure for her to feel. She loved it, loved it so much. Her jaws parted and a tongue stuck out to hang lazily out of her mouth. There was also this drowsy, slightly retarded look in her eyes, proving that wolves could look just as brainless as the average dog owned by a human. He repeated his name, and the little girl furrowed her eyebrows a bit. Yes, yes, she knew, she had already told him what his name was. Seemingly he did not know how to pronounce it the correct way like she did, but he was just a poor man, and she liked him. His laughter had been warm and kind and it had filled her little body with so much glee. The male started to name her siblings, and her tail got lost in its craziness again while she waited for her own name to pop up. A squeal rose from the tiny girl when the name ‘Noir’ sounded in the tranquil (could a morning be called tranquil with Noir nearby?) morning air. He remembered! He knew Noir’s naive! Her small muscles tightened up a bit as she got down in a pretty sitting position, flashing a move she had copied from Ocèane when she had successfully managed to kidnap Toefur. Yes, indeed, Noir was Noir! She nodded, all of a sudden almost shy. She flashed a glance up at him and grinned at him. She turned around, suddenly remembering someone that had been forgotten. Now that they were talking about names, she had to introduce her best friend too. ”And this is Toefur is Noires baby.” She nudged the toy with her little noise, and made a whimpering noise when she felt that he was still a bit cold. ”Toefur so cold so cold Dawaiii helpes us!” She turned to Dawali again, her eyes begging for help.

Word count: 551 The girl seemed to go through two, or three emotions in quick succession, when his deep voice sounded her name, finally. Her tail moved as if it was going through a process of its own, not exactly dancing, more like dashing from side to side, racing itself. First she looked at him with an odd face, quizzical, but as soon as she heard her name aloud it changed. Gone was the hyper-active child, however, for now she sat down, seeming proud - although it seemed she was only able to stay that way a moment. Then she changed again, suddenly shy, before she remembered her current problem: Toefur and his lack of warmth. Perhaps her excessive energy took over, because soon she was urging him to find a solution to this problem, after all he was Dawareee, yes? The male chuckled, and lifted the girl into the air again. The tiny legs of hers looked a little bit silly when they did not have anything to stand on, but that was the way of the puppy. Soon the little girl had been placed on the ground again, along with her pink friend (or son, to be precise), and Dawali stood up, his tall form raving above her like some giant. I know just the thing, little miss. Out of his pouch came two dead rabbits, clasped in his red and white hand. He'd brought them for the little family whose mother was so busy caring for four children alone, that she barely had time to hunt. Cooked rabbits were tastier than raw, and easier to eat for the little girls and boys anyway. Putting them onto the ground next to the furball and her pink friend, he let his eyes fall to the ground, quickly spotting a suitable twig. Picking it up, he spoke to the child, showing it to her. I think we should make a little fire. Fires can make Toefur very nice and warm! Can you be a good Noir and see if you can collect little twigs like this one, for Dawali? Not waiting for an answer, he unhooked the flint stones from his belt, placed them on the ground, and took a few steps towards the tree nearby, searching for suitable burning wood. Soon the male had gathered a handful of larger and smaller pieces, some for the actual fire, and some for the lighting process. Kneeling, Dawali made a hole in the snow before him, at a good distance from both the tree and the den, and put the wood in it to form a type of fire that lives long without much maintenance. The bottom was larger pieces of wood, and building a square of them, he also filled the middle with a little pyramid of wood pieces. In the pyramid's center the red wolf placed pieces of poor-quality dried rope, and a lot of twigs, and some bark. Then, deftly using the two rocks he always carried with him, he soon threw sparks at the easily flammable centerpiece. His eyes were focused on his task, but his voice spoke gently to the child, urging her to help him make the fire. If you want, you can blow air on the sparks when they land on the wood. It makes it warm and nice.

Do do do do 500+ The child was too young to properly understand the differences between herself and the plushie. She did not understand what made the toy so cold. Always, always, no matter how many furs she threw over him. Noir was able to stay warm without any furs, but what was wrong with her pink friend? She was at a loss what to do. In the girl's immature brain, Toefur was a living thing, just a bit.. less active than most other creatures. He was different, yes, but that was because he was not a wolf. A mouse did not look the same as Noir, but it was a living creature. Therefor Toefur had to be one too. He had a body, eyes, mouth and arms, aka he was a creature too? Noir's thoughts about pink octopus creatures vanished when her feet lost the connection to Dawali's lap. Her tiny brown limbs raced in the empty air, but Noir was not going anywhere. If this was how it felt like to fly then she wished she had been a bird. Her tongue dropped out from her mouth and waved around randomly in a rather retarded manner. The moment as a bird did not last for very long though, and soon the girl was on the boring ground. She flickered her ears backwards and was about to crawl up into the man's lap again when he got up. She was left all the way down on the ground, looking up at the large Dawali. She raced in-between his legs and looked up at the underside of the man. He had something that mommy did not. Interesting. The man talked, and the child perked her ears to pay attention to his words. Yay, they were going to help Toefur from freezing. She raced around his legs while witnessing him finding lots of weird stuff inside his bag like thingie. When she saw the rabbits, she twisted her body in a weird jump of joy which sent her face first into the cold ground. Noir's mother did not always light a fire, and so the girl forgot all about her aching muzzle when the visitor announced that they were to make a fire. Perhaps Noir could help! She let a thrilled giggle leap out into the shallow air, and started her race around his form again. Twigs, twigs, she was a good girl, she could do that! She darted away from the male, overeager in her quest for twigs. Her size did not allow her to be very effective, but she returned to Dawali with one and two twigs at the time. Eventually, there was enough wood to make a fire. The girl watched in amazement while Dawali did his thing. One day, Noir was going to make fire all by herself. She would hunt food for Toefur and Tayui, and she would be the new mommy in the family, taking care of everything and everyone. If possible, her eyes would have shot fireworks. When he told the small Aston child that she could blow on the sparks, she joined him within seconds. This was the best morning in the whole wide world! She saw a spark jump up and rotate in the cool air, and she blew carefully, and ended up killing it. It was only one of many though, and she sort of figured that she should blow on those lying in-between the twigs and bark, or else they would die. Did it hurt for them to die? Was Noir Aston already a mean murderer? She hoped not. She blew carefully, and screamed in delight when eventually a orange and yellow flame erupted from the baby sparks. They grew up so fast! Oh! Rabbits meant that Dawali would make Noir nice warm breakfast? The child loved roasted meat. Raw was okay too, but prepared meat was the favorite by far. "Abbit breakfast!"

Lalala Word count: 382 As flames caught properly on the wood (finally) Dawali sat back a second and watched the little girl blow furiously at the flames. It seemed she did not mind the warmth, although she had stopped for a second with a frown, before starting again. In the beginning he had glanced at her once or twice as she blew on sparks that flew freely in the air - but despite her naive behavior and energetic person she caught on quickly and blew in the right places. Her behavior did not do justice to her brains, because her demeanor branded her at first glance as not quite the smartest girl in the world. She was perhaps one of those who let enthusiasm get in the way of learning, but he had no doubt she was as smart as any other child her age. His own children had been passionate, but more contemplating than Noir. Nevertheless, Dawali was fully charmed by the furball. The red wolf male nodded and chuckled, confirming, as she put two and two together and exclaimed that she knew the answer. Rabbit breakfast indeed, and now he got up again, searching for a rock that was flat enough. He did not always like to roast things on a stick, sometimes it was just as well to fry the pieces of meat on a hot stone. He did not find any suitable rock, however, so roasting it would have to do. Sticks weren't exactly hard to find. Moments later he had propped the stick so it would not fall, and one rabbit hung from it at a suitable distance from the flames. He'd prepared them for this before he went, so he didn't have to bring his food knives - Mischka had made them, and they never left his den. Sitting down in a lotus position again, he spread the blanked over his lap again, indirectly inviting the child to sit with him. Now, Toefur can't be cold now that Noir has made such a big warm fire, can he? Such a nice mom he has. She'd contributed, and he would give her the full credit for the fire, no matter who had done the actual work. He found great joy in seeing that face light up in a slightly retarded manner.

500+ The girl was amazingly proud of herself when the extremely pretty flames started to feast on the twigs she had gathered. Truth be told, she had not fully noticed the warmth that increased as the vibrant body of the fire increased. She walked backwards a few steps before falling on her bum, which served as good as any pillow. She did not stay long, because Dawali was about to do something more exciting! Her intense blue eyes did their best never to leave the rabbits. Oh, boy, Noir could eat a whole rabbit! She was that hungry! Though, the fire was more than interesting to watch, so her gaze jumped between those two nice things. It smelled and kind of looked like rabbit, but it seemed they were mutant of some kind, because they did not look the same as when Tayui came with fresh rabbit. The child did not devote many moments to ponder before the focus went to the actual rabbit that now hung over the fire. The greedy child licked her lips slowly. More than anything, she wanted to steal it and eat it up before it was done, but she knew how rude that would be. It happened that one of her siblings did the same, and more than once the meat had fell down straight into the camp fire and ruined the good meat. It made everyone sad. Besides, Noir liked it better well done than raw and anything between. She was a good girl, because the visitor was a good man. The big adult talked, and both ears and face went in his direction. He had sat down again and the blanket was on his lap again. Hurray! Her feet hurriedly and clumsily got her on her feet, and the man’s words reached her fluffy and tan ears as she found a tentacle arm and dragged both Toefur and herself up into the man’s lap a second time. Dawali’s words made her so proud that she had issues with deciding how to let this show. He had given her the credit for making the fire (and she had!), so so nice the nice wolf man was! So yes, her face lighted up in a slightly retarded manner, beaming at the older man, beaming at Toefur, who smiled retarded back. ”Yes and not cold it has and abbit is for breakfast to make good start of days and big Noir and Dawaiii to makes.” Her brows furrowed slightly, because even the little girl had issues understanding what she just had said. It was hard, trying to explain complicated things. Mommy always said it right, that if they ate their food as they were told, they would grow big and strong just like her! Noir wanted to grow big and pretty, and therefore she always ate her food. She curled around into a little ball of tan fur, staring hungrily at the pieces of rabbit. Why was it taking so long? The girl knew better than to start to complain, but it was stupid how the time slowed down when she was waiting for something good.

Word Count: 453 The girl stared greedily at the rabbit and the fire, seemingly not making up her mind on which was better to watch. Her clumsy body movements made the tall wolf chuckle again, before he moved the glowing wood in the midst of the flames with a longer stick, to force out more heat. Once her attention was on him again, after he had spoken, she spotted the availability of his lap and the blanket over it, and in seconds she was curled up there again, enjoying the warmth of his tummy. As predicted she became very proud as him giving her credit for making the fire, and it seemed she found it very important to share this pride with her Toefur as well, her face moving from smiling at the red wolf, to her pink toy. Soon words came spilling out of her mouth, forcing the male to concentrate to understand what she was trying to say. After discarding any notion of grammar left in the male, and simply putting key words together (it took him a little moment!), he understood that she was indeed confirming his words. Toefur would not be cold, check. Rabbit for breakfast, check. And it was a good day for the toy, because of Noir and Dawaiii, check. He was not the only one to have to think a little on this message, however, and when the male noticed the slight frown on the girl's face as she tried to interpret her own sentence he chuckled again. Her cuteness had no mercy, but he did not comment on her words. The moment passed, and she looked hungrily at the roasting rabbit. The male felt a slight emptiness in his own stomach, and did not say anything for a while, but simply watched the rabbit and its process towards becoming edible. When the time to eat it finally came, he lifted Noir gently off of his lap, and rose to stand bent over the fire, moving the stick with the hot rabbit away from the flames, placing it on a nearby rock - clean enough. It would have to rest a little, else they would burn their mouths as they attempted to eat it. With a wink to the girl, Dawali put the second rabbit onto the stick (now having removed the first one, obviously), and adjusted it over the flames. In no time he was back on the ground, sitting in lotus position. Perhaps this second rabbit is for the rest of the family? Dawali motioned with his hand in the direction of Tayui's den. Noir would share, she was a good girl. Perhaps she would even go and wake them up - now that'd be a sight.

500+ They both stayed silent, but Noir did not mind. The most extreme energy had left her body for now, so she settled quietly on his lap, head resting on her light, almost white paws. The rabbits smelled so nice. She wondered if there was some way to close her nose so that she could shut the wonderful smell out. Her stomach grumbled greedily, torturing her. A pink tongue washed over her little muzzle. Om nom, rabbit breakfast. She was sure Toefur was hungry too, but she could only pretend to feed him, because he never actually opened his mouth to eat. It was all such a mystery. When he reached to remove the steaming food from the fire, she jumped down from his lap and sniffed on the burning hot meat. She knew better than to touch it, she had had enough of those kinds of accidents! She circled the rock though, pretending to be a predator, and the dead piece of rabbit was still alive in her eyes. Noir hunter, feeding the whole pack. Ah, imagining was a sweet thing. Growing up was all she could think about. She wanted to be big and strong and feed people like mommies did. She could be mommy’s mommy! Tayui was so nice to her children, so Noir had already decided that she would take care of her mother when she had grown up. It would be so cosy and everyone would be so happy and never be hungry because Noir would be so good. He hung up the second rabbit, and she drooled after the raw meat as well until Dawali mentioned that it should be for the rest of the family. Absolutely, that was an amazing idea. If Noir had not been so hungry, she would have given both rabbits to her family. The little girl nodded at Dawali. ”Yes so happy, happy it makes all makes Noir feel happiness.” There was so much truth in those words. Maybe she should go and wake them, but she was uncertain if that was a good idea. She wouldn’t have to deal with that yet, because the rabbit was not ready! Some of her siblings really got grumpy when woken up too early (in their opinion), no matter if there was food available or not. She looked up at the adult. How early was it? Light had taken over the scenery, so obviously it was not too early, right? Noir had no sense of time. Daylight meant daytime, and darkness meant sleeping time for Noir and Toefur! ”Dwaree, it food cold or hot full for eat?” When would the meat be cold enough for little Noir to eat yummy yummy? She was openly drooling, but she had manners. She sat down next to the male, and would not move until breakfast was served. She was such a good girl, and good girls never started to eat before the meal was served and they were allowed to start to eat. It was hard to sit and wait though, but many things in life were hard.

Fail post is fail Word Count: 332 The tiny ball of fluff circled the rock as if she were a huntress, though it seemed she knew very well that touching it would inflict pain. Knowing this relaxed the male, and he sat still and watched her, not interrupting her play and trusting her to not do something stupid or wrong. She was a good girl, and obviously naive since it took her about three seconds to give the male full trust. The other rabbit roasted, both of them now smelling deliciously, and the emptiness in his tummy grew more and more intense as every second passed. Soon the drooling girl turned to Dawali again, now finished with hunting the resting rabbit, and finished with drooling at the roasting one. What, if it was cold enough to eat? Well, it had been cooling off for a few minutes now, if she was careful it would probably be fine. Nodding slowly, Dawali smiled and reached out for the rabbit to pull off a leg. Here Noir, eat this, but not too fast - it can be warm in the middle! Soon, the leg was handed to the girl, and truth be told the difference in size between Noir and that rabbit leg wasn't overwhelming. Of course, Noir was larger by far, but the leg was larger than her own hind leg, and thus an impressive amount of flesh for such a young tummy. Confident that the girl would be satisfied with this, he pulled of another leg and put the rest of the animal onto the rock again. Flesh met his teeth and savory juices caressed his tongue as he took a gentle bite of the leg, testing if it was still a little hot. But no, it was just right, and he greedily started to eat. After all, only the pup was a witness, no grown wolf was around to frown at his lack of manners this one time. Tasty, isn't it! It wasn't a question, but a statement. Delicious!

500+ Minutes lasted longer than days. She watched the male’s hand intensely as he reached out for the first rabbit piece and broke off a leg. Her brain shot firework when he turned to give it to her. She waited patiently (seemingly patiently, that is) until the food was placed in front of her. She pawed it closer with a tan paw while looking up at the nice man that had helped her make breakfast. ”Thanks please, very much.” It was very important to be nice and polite to other people, especially when they were nice to her! She crunched over the food, and pressed her muzzle against the hot meat while inhaling deeply, taking in the wonderful smell. When she licked it, the taste matched the smell. A whole leg alone, and there was no chance any of her siblings would steal it. Her ears perked forward to check if she could hear the meat as well, but the dead piece of rabbit was very silent. Probably because it was dead and not alive. It was a bit sad that animals had to die so that she could eat, but the girl was not fully aware of this, so those sorrows were still to come. He said it could be hot in the middle. But in her opinion it was slightly hot to touch still, so maybe he meant that middle could hurt her tongue. It had happened before that her tongue had started to burn because of the high temperature of some meat. She started to rip small pieces from the rabbit. She let out a small sigh at the delicious taste of the breakfast. It was so tasty, Dawali caught tasty rabbits! It was the best breakfast imaginable! The child smiled as she ate, and her friend had been right, it was hot in the middle. A light steam danced up from the food, and she blew on it, eager to eat more. A blue glance was given to the big man. He ate the other leg, and it looked like he liked it too! He asked if it was tasty, and the little girl nodded eagerly as she munched away on her leg piece. She was soon halfway already, but she was starting to feel not so hungry anymore, which was slightly sad because it tasted so good, and Noir really liked to eat nice food. She let her main weight crush down on her bum again and gave a sigh that turned into a burp when a pocket of air escaped the lower section of her throat. Her belly felt big and round, and when she looked down at it, she realized that it was true. Mommy said that they had come out of her belly, so maybe mini babies would come out of Noir’s belly now? She hoped so, she knew she would be best in the world. Toefur was smiling at her, and she pushed the meat over to the toy, hoping he too was hungry and wanted food, because it was not nice to let food go to waste. ”Nom, Toefur.” Maybe her family wanted food too. They were still inside the den, and when she flicked a fluffy brown ear to investigate if there were any sounds, she was disappointed, because there were none. Why did they always sleep so long. ”Thanks for food, is tasty good.” She smiled up to the man that was still eating, wagging her tail. This was the best start of the day in the world.

Word Count: 423 Dawali chuckled between bites (oh how he seemed to chuckle this whole morning away!), looking at the overly eager girl munch away at the too big portion of rabbit. Even when saying a simple "yes please" or whatever the sentence had been, the girl managed to fail miserably at grammar - but it was adorable, nonetheless. His paternal instinct was off the roof today it seemed, and somehow he wanted nothing more than to have the children of the tribe adore him. Indeed, perhaps a puppysitter rank would suit him better... But he would naturally not stray from his chosen path. And also, the puppysitter ranks were reserved for the female. Not because he believed that that was the female place in the tribe or anything line that, but simply because most mothers felt safer when there was another woman tending their children. Also, the women had a completely different way of relating to the kids; most of the time the males in the tribe (at least back when they had been so many, compared to now) were on the joking side with the pups, whereas the females reprimanded the males, and re-educated the children after the men had gotten weird ideas into their little heads. He was probably suited better for the rank and profession he now held, but it was tempting nonetheless. Soon he'd probably be too old to follow their tempo anyways. The girl "fed" her son Toefur as he took a little nibble of a part he'd torn of the rabbit body itself, although he was starting to feel satisfied already. He hadn't been as hungry as the child, and the portions they'd devoured weren't that different in size. Dawali never ate large meals anyway. Soon a grateful (and again grammatically slaughtered) sentence could be heard from the child, and Dawali smiled, swallowed the meat and reached out for her again. His arms were very long! One finger only barely poked her tummy, now bulging with the recently eaten rabbit, and agreed very much to this statement. Yes it was, and I think Noir had almost little bit too much, too! Smiling again, the man turned to look to the direction of Tay's den. Nope - the family was still not awake. Then his yellow gaze landed onto the girl again, and suddenly his face was all secrets and mystery. His voice was just a whisper as he leaned close to her and spoke into her ear. I have an idea! Do you want to know what it is?
