4th September: Belated congrats to Born of Night, our Featured New Affiliate for September! 2nd September - Congratulations to Element and Fy'Ra, our Spotlight and Community Souls for August! - More edits have been made to the Rules, including a standardized mature topic title marker. - The Rule changes also include the banning of embedded content, including Flash and Javascript applets. Members have one week to remove existing embedded content before it is manually pruned from the board. - The Staff page has also been reorganized. 19th August: "Excessive powerplay or godmoding" has been added to the list of bannable offenses because for some reason it wasn't there already! :o |

Starting with 2006, 'Souls puts out a yearbook at the end of every year with a collection of the characters that have been around for that year and a round of superlatives that people voted on!
Recurring Contests
Spotlight Soul
The Spotlight Soul is a contest we hold each month. The leaders of each pack nominate one or two members they believe have been exceptionally active or done some good service to the pack. Clan leaders may also nominate one or two members. If a lone wolf or creature shows exceptional activity, an administrator or moderator may nominate him or her for a Spotlight Soul as well. Each nomination is then placed in the Souls Assemblage in a poll, and we all vote for a single Spotlight Soul. The purpose of this contest is to reward active members for their efforts and showcase examples everyone can follow.

Word of the Day
The Word of the Day Contest is a challenge for members to introduce new vocabulary into their posts. Check Dictionary.com for a different word every day and correctly use it in your posts throughout the day. Each time you correctly use it, you will be awarded one point. For further details, see the topic in the Profile & Archives Listing!

The Poetry Slam is a poetry contest in which members submit their poetry and the Souls Assemblage votes on the poems to pick the "best" of all of them.

Fireside Stories
The Fireside Stories contest was run by Voidfane and Stormy in August of 2005. The point was to write a short story in a certain category. First, the category itself was voted on, and then people had time to write their stories. Winners were picked anonymously by a volunteer panel of judges. The turnout was really good!

Short-Posting Contest
In April of 2005, we decided to host a short-post contest. The objective of the game was to compile as many short posts (that is, under 350 words) as you can possibly accumulate in one thread with a set time limit with one partner. We had three winners:

What a Face was organized by Zero on the 6th of July, 2005. The basic idea of the contest was to mangle and mutilate your personal picture in Microsoft Paint. The results were absolutely hilarious!
